Photos of Southern African Diesel Motive Power! Photos should be 800x600 pixels, maximum size 130K. Very good ones will be moved to the Online Gallery, the rest will be pruned away after 14 days to conserve space. Class 34's at Magaliesburg

Post by Derek Walker »

While waiting to come home from Magaliesburg we heard an awful noise, much hooting and growling and strangely enough a train appeared next to us and then carried on past us heading who knows where. Here I thought only the occasional train passed this sleepy place. What is down the line from Magaliesburg anyway? (heading away from Krugersdorp)

3 Different coloured class 34's were doing the dirty work.

This is the main line from Johannesburg via Krugersdorp through Zeerust to Mafikeng where it joins the Cape line headed northwards into Botswana and thence to Bulawayo and beyond.
