It was rather refreshing to see how busy Krugersdorp goods yard was today.

I had a few words with the senior shunter in Krugersdorp Yard, and he mentioned that Millsite loco is also sufferiing from Motive power shortages, and then sometimes, problems get compounded when there is a shortage of both traction and manpower.

Krugersdorp shunt needs to shunt Chamdor on a daily basis, but the shunter did mention that they now only venture to Chamdor maybe once or twice a week, because of the above mentioned problems, and that they also have to handle the over-run traffic from or to Waterval goods yard, adjacent toi Millsite Loco.

It was rather pleasent to see the yard lines filled almost to capcity and and added bonus was 3 X 6E-1's (light locos) ready to depart for Bank station, to fetch another goods train for Krugersdorp.

While I was there, the JHB To CT mainline train (Ex Trans-Karoo), called at Krugesdorp station and departed spot on-time.
