Kenya Railways commences 11-hour Nairobi-Kisumu train service
Kenya Railways has published a train schedule indicating that services on the newly rehabilitated line will begin on Friday, December 17, 2021 serving the Nairobi-Nakuru-Kisumu route. According to a new passenger schedule released by KRC, a ticket to Nakuru City is being sold at Kshs. 300 for economy class with the train departing at 6 AM and arriving at 11.30 AM. The train will similarly depart Nakuru City for Nairobi at 1:30 PM and arrive at 6:20 PM with the ticket price remaining the same. However, for passengers traveling to Kisumu City from the capital, it will be 11 hours 45 minutes until arrival with a ticket going for Kshs. 600 for an economy and Kshs. 2000 for a first-class ticket...

FINALLY!! Nairobi - Kisumu Train (video)
Kenya Railway resumed the train from Nairobi to Kisumu after it successfully made a comeback to Kisumu. It departed Nairobi at 06:15 AM in the morning and arrived at Kisumu Railway Station at 17:55. It also made few stops at Nakuru Train Station and others along the way! Here is the video documenting the whole journey!

Kenya Railways adds Nairobi-Kisumu trains on travel demand
Kenya Railways has added three more train services on the Nairobi-Kisumu line following a surge in demand as city residents travel to their rural homes for the festivities. KR managing director Philip Mainga said the first train was added on Tuesday from Nairobi to Kisumu. Another extra train will run from Kisumu to Nairobi on Christmas day and the third extra one on January 2 to ferry hundreds of travellers back to the city...
Kenya Railways adds another ride to Kisumu on Tuesday over demand
In a tweet on Sunday, the company said it is introducing the second ride due to public demand. "Kisumu Dala, you asked and we listened. So due to public demand we are introducing another ride to Kisumu on Tuesday the 21st December to return on Wednesday the 22nd December. Book now to avoid disappointment. See you Tuesday!"
