19B 1412 Voorbaai

19B 1412 has been stripped of all her copper piping and brass fittings. In June 2007 the loco was complete, in fact the staff had just finished cosmetically retoring her. Now what?

Who allowed this to happen? What can be done to save the situation?

1412 is not alone as 19D's 2683, 2698, 3321, 3322, 3334 have received the same treatment. Some of the UL coaches windows are open.

Its not a case of anyone allowing this to happen. All over the country copper and brass thieves are causing havoc, stripping millions of Rands worth of brass.

What now? 1412 will probably stand of use for the forseeable future unfortunatley.

I hear you. In the Maritime Industry we have the same problems.

Did I mention 1412 was standing right outside the main workshop at Voorbaai.
