1. Chaing Mai station is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Pity the Thai State Railways dont share that attention on their rolling stock. Pictured here on the Bangkok overnight express train number 2, is one of the Alsthom built diesel electric locos.Trainman looks glad he is a passenger!
2. General Electric built locomotive of the Thai Railways, stands ready to leave Hua Lamphong Bangkok station on the overnight semi express train to Chiang Mai, in the northern province.The consist was 16 vehicles of which the first class set is sleeper compartments and air conditioned.
