"The Great Indian Rail Arlas" lives up to it's title - it truly is great in terms of the concept, coverage and what it delivers!

I have had my copy now for a couple of years, and it has had a great deal of use!

It has 84 pages, of which 55 make up the maps. These are to a scale of 1:1,5000,000 and show all the 10,000 existing (and closed) station in India!

If this is not enough, clever graphics and design has enabled the author to also show all the various gauges (and there are a lot in India), work in progress, electrification, loco sheds (by type), freight yards, container yards and express routes. Inset maps also show the various metro's. Seperate mapos also show Bengal's narrow gauge network, the various express routes and railay map of 1893 (fpor comparison).

A full index is provided, as well as multilingial legends in English, French and German.

If you are interested in Indian Railways, and indeed just in India, I cannot recommend this Atlas enough. Because India has such great rail coverage, you will generally find even the smallest place mentioned in this book, and if it is mentioned in terms of railways - it is here! It is also visually pleasing, and nice to browse through in the evenings!

Buy it straight from the author here... I did and got great service!
