Ahhh.. the old tubes- a really unique stuffy smell which enhances as you hear the train bearing down on you through the distant blackness...

But alas - the stuffy smell has gone now!

A few years back they went as far as to try using squirts of perfume at some stations - this was discontinued very rapidly after passengers started to get sick...........

The fragrance was called "Madeleine" and was used in 2001 at St James Park, Euston and Piccadilly. The experiment lasted 1 day!
