Re: New MetroRail website
The timetables used my poster design for announcing the special trains to the different matches. It was also made into flyers to hand out at the stations but I noticed that the train numbers and times were all wrong as these were updated many times after the posters and flyers were printed.

Re: New MetroRail website
Thanks for clearing that up, that's how ridiculous their whole PDF craze is, how can you put something that was meant to be printed A0 as a PDF that needs to be watched on a 15" screen? It was totaly unreadable.
Typical to change everything on the last minute.
In the Cape they print thousands of these timetables when major time-table changes occur, and even then you struggle to get one, especially because they are so cheap. CapeMetro engourages people who want the timetables to go to their website and download them or send an e-mail to
northtt@metrorail.co.za (CT-Bellville-Strand-Stellenbosch-Wellington-Worcester)
southtt@metrorail.co.za (CT-Fishhoek-Simonstown and Cape Flats)
centraltt@metrorail.co.za (CT-Khayelitsha-Michells Plain-Bellville-Langa)

Are you talking about the booklets?Marc Russel wrote:No matter how hard I tried I could not get one in CT or Joburg. However I did obtain one in Pretoria and was startled to learn that it cost R3.

Yes I am referring to the booklets. Timetables should actually be free.

I don't know about you, but R3 is as close to free as we get here in South Africa

Re: New MetroRail website
It is back again! This time timetables for two routes in Gauteng are included. These include SBE and TBE timetables which appear somewhat confusing......
The reveiw of BE services suggest travel times being far greater than actuality. Strange!

Re: New MetroRail website
I know that in Cape Town they only print a limited number of timetables, the last timetable change was in 2006, and there was a reprint in the mean time. They plan to change the timetables (and fares) again in October so presumably they don't want to print another 100 000 now when the timetables will change in a few months... At least you can still find CT's timetables on its website, unlike certain other regions...

Hi all - I do not wish to be pedantic, but I look in the South African photo gallery for photos of SA trains.
I may not be looking hard enough, but I cannot see a single metro in this post (or am I going crazy?)
Just a thought....
