Panpoort to Pretoria was the Witput/Kraankuil of the Eastern line. One lazy winter's day, a GO number 2584 and 19D number 2732 drift into the station en route to Lydenburg and probably Kaapmuiden for the 19 class. The locomotives have been outshopped from Koedoespoort works in Pretoria and will have a service stop at Panpoort and many more stops along the way to Witbank. This sequence taken in 1972.

No electrification masts, just a station and a long gradient ahead!

Servicing finished and they head off, with the GO doing the work. The water tower on the far left is where the railway houses were situated. Today the scene has certainly altered. 1972
