On Saturday the 25.09.2010 I visited the Innotrans in Berlin. It is a railway exhibition where every second year new inventions around the railway will presented.
This year was a new Tube for the London Underground at the exhibition.
Here are now the pictures of that train.
I also used the chance to have a look inside of that train. Here are some impressions from the inside look.
Now still some informations which are stuck on the walls.
These are all pictures I took of the train. I hope it s enough to give you an impression of the new London Underground Tube.

Re: Innotrans 2010 Berlin - New Tube for London Underground
The impression I get is of too many fiddly bits. Fabric seats wont last and there is way too much plastic. But still, quite impressive, will be nice to see them after a year in service. Thanks for the pics Andreas.
Not quite on the rails.

Re: Innotrans 2010 Berlin - New Tube for London Underground
Derek, as far as I recall most British trains, both on the underground and on the national network, have fabric seats. It seems to be quite hard-wearing, although it usually needs to be refreshed after a few years. The plastic hand rails are also very common on British buses and underground trains, and it too seems to be quite resilient.

Thank you for these pics Andreas - very nice.
Looks like the standard theme/layout that has developed over the years.
Derek - as John says the plastic and cloth is standard on the London Underground (and buses too) and appears to last very well. I am sure they have the anti-scratch windiws etc as well. Hopefully they will last as well as the current stock has!
See the link below of the District Line - and this is NOT a new in line service coach either!

Re: Innotrans 2010 Berlin - New Tube for London Underground
Most of the new coaches or railcars have now a kind of plastic seats.
I will try to post more pictures of some coaches / railcars and locomotives in the next time.
I decided to post them in the country parts of the forum as long as I know to witch country the trains belong to.
I just posted in the North America section.
By the way: Thank you for your comments.
