I don't know what the reason is. Our old 15F, 3094, also had various bits of rodding along the outside painted red and green. Is it an old South African steam tradition? Does anyone out there know?

The red was for the steam of the reverser, so they say, and then the green simply matches Les T shirt!! Jokes aside, no answer for that!

An old driver told me today they just did it to brighten up the engine, and that it was a common practice.
