The last of the rods for the drop grate and manual grate shaker were connected today.

It is actually amazing how much hard work has gone into this locomotive. From setting firebar pull rods, to cleaning out the underfloor cavities to whatever. When you get a locomotive, as we have had, from a scrap piece of pipeless form, and then to get it back to what it should be, a working locomotive, is quite something. Well done on getting more niggly things out the way.

The care which has gone into setting these rods will make life easier for the firemen in future. We tested the ashpan slide and that operates incredibly smoothly. Thanks to the fitters from one of the firemen!
