Great! And good pictures. But what were they doing? Changing tyres, like I do on my car?

How high can they lift the loco? How many jacks required?

The Jacks are 50 tonners and the work in progress here, is to get the leading bogies pivot, cleaned, the oil passages opened, and then the unit lubricated.There is a half moon clamp around the pivot that has to be opened and removed. Very confined space to work in.

The view here is taken under the locomotive looking at the leading bogey unit. The collar holding the bogey pivot in place has been opened up for lubrication purposes . The locomotive is jacked up and work is able to be performed in the confined space with ease!
