Geez! looks like the inside of a PLC cabinet. Glad they know whats going on...

Is that a dynamometer car or something? Surely that can't be the regular train/coach connection?

There were 2 test coaches - what they contain in this day and age I do not know !

The cabling you see all ran down the channeling on the side of the engine and was clearly temp cabling. It terminated all over the boogies - see some of the shots in Part 2 where the bogie's are clearer. See also the shot you are referring to where the cable is in a loop and then ruins down to part of the bogie. Looks like cat cable.
