Ralph Sharp RIP

Post by John Ashworth »

on 2nd June 2009, Ashley Peter wrote:It is with extreme sadness that I have to report on the passing of long-term RSSA and USR member Ralph Sharp, aged 72. Although he bravely endured a number of onslaughts on his health over the years, he finally died from smoke inhalation as a result of a fire at the Umhlanga Hospital yesterday morning. He was one of two patients that were overcome by the fire, which allegedly started in a nearby linen cupboard. Ralph had been the previous editor of Natal Newsletter and the secretary of the Railway History Society. He will also be remembered for his stints in the booking office at numerous USR Harbour Wanderers, and was one of the stalwarts in the RSSA Natal Branch Library. He will be sorely missed.

Please pass on info to those not on e-mail.
