Reading through old S A Rail magazines of 1984, the following came to my attention, seeing as we deal in history all the time.

The RSSA Preservation group, now called SANRASM, site at Krugersdoorp, was officially opened by the, then, Misister of Transport, Hendrik Schoeman on Saturday 10th November.

It was opened to the public the following day.

Metroblitz express passenger train service between Pretoria and Joburg, was run on 11 January.

Last steam hauled run of the Orange Express passenger train was 31 January 1984.

Interesting to read the thoughts and future plands of the rail fraternity and perhaps some wise words for us, some 25 years later. Read and learn!
