Century City's new station

Post by Stefan Andrzejewski »

I wanted to take some shots of the new CC station but thought it would be boring with no movement. This is a double scoop as its the first photos on FOTR of the new Shos coloured 6E1 coupled with another in the original livery in the Western Cape.

Jip, well done FOTR and administrators for this excellent idea and following it through to this hugely succesful forum!

Stefan, where was this pic taken from? How far is it located from Century City? Is it walking distance? Do you think they will build a covered walkway into the centre/parking from the station, especially with the long, wet and windy Cape winters in mind?

I was standing at the top of the Century City off ramp to the N1 to Cape Town. It is a long walk from the station to Canal Walk and on very busy roads. They are going either build a walk way right across the N1 and Mercedes to Canal Walk or lay on buses, which will create a problem with the traffic flow. Remember this is on the Monte Vista line to Belville. Most of the metros go through Maitland , Parow to get to Bellville so I am not sure how many people will actually use this station. Time will tell. Nice to hear from you Luca. I hope you are well in Vaalie land.

Nice one Stefan, indeed the first shot of this "new" purple 6e1 in CPT I have seen.
