Photos from 1969

Post by Etienne du Plessis »

I am not a "Train guy" in the real sense of the word but love the old photos posted here. My interest is in photos of Cape Town from the sixties to the eighties of which I run a collection on Flickr.
In my constant search for new material I often come across stuff I cannot use, but are nevertheless good photos and sometimes the subject is trains.
So,........here are four examples that might interest you chaps.

Cheers,

Etienne.

Wonderful stuff! Just look how clean and neat all the infrastructure and locos were generally, when there was pride in the railways. This has gone forever for sure.
Please please keep posting shots for us, thanks!

This is now what railways were about! Well done and please keep sending. GMAM has Cape mountain type background and fruit vans in background. Looks like part of double header? Where now?
